Hello, my name is Sadana, and I’m a 17-year-old based in Bangalore. Growing up surrounded by a family of doctors, I was naturally intrigued by medicine. Every summer, when I visited my grandparents’ town, I’d sit with my grandmother in her clinic as she evaluated patients- I observed, learnt and was eager for more. When I was 12, my grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer. Our whole family was distressed about her condition, especially me. For a few months, she came to live with us to get treated in a hospital in the city. On the weekends, I’d accompany her to her chemotherapy sessions.
