Hi! My name is Kamya Hiranandani and I'm a 17-year-old IB student. I was raised in China for 14 years, before moving to my birthplace, Mumbai, India. Being in the DP has been a rigorous, yet rewarding experience, and this is mostly due to the choices that I have made in regards to my HL subjects, which are inclusive of Biology, Chemistry and Psychology. Out of these three broad areas of science, I find Biology to be one that truly grasps my attention and evokes a passionate student. I've always wanted to be a doctor, and knowing that it requires me to study biology for 10+ years after high school excites me tremendously, especially because of how vast and beautiful the science really is, where we try to understand nature around us, and our depth of knowledge just continues to grow! Not to mention, the various and abundant career opportunities that derive from it too - further enhancing my liking towards the science. Although I am still unsure of my future field of specialisation, given that I am willing to study this for years to come, is enough evidence to prove that I am truly passionate about biology!
